no clothing, no shoes, no notebooks.
These will be stored in our warehouses at Kerem Shalom
until further notice.
Bananas, apples, and persimmons are allowed into Gaza,
peaches and dates, and now macaroni
(after the American Senator’s visit).
These are vital for daily sustenance.
But no apricots, no plums, no grapes, no avocados, no jam.
These are luxuries and are not allowed.

I keep reading that the Israeli secret agents, i.e. terrorists, who murdered some senior Hamas figure, i.e. terrorist, in Dubai recently, used Irish and British passports. Now, maybe I’m just being dumb, but how is that even possible? Did they make the guy choke on the laminated pages or something, because I don’t see how you would slit a throat with a passport? They aren’t even that pointy. Oh Christ, I’m having a stroke, help me.

A very informative and interesting documentary was shown on More4, part of the True Stories series. Yoav Shamir, through film, explores the question “What is anti-Semitism Today?”. I have always wondered why the term anti-Semitic is used so loosely, in describing anyone who criticises Israel’s policies and actions. The psychology and indoctrination of the threat of anti-Semitism goes much deeper than I ever imagined.
There is one particular scene I found very disturbing. A group of Israeli teenagers on an excursion to Auschwitz are told not to talk to any of the local people, because they are hated. They will have no contact with any other teenagers and are not allowed out of their rooms. Anyone found talking to strangers is scolded.
