Eircom – A Shower of Lying, Thieving Morons
The bastards in eircom took €122 from me wrongfully, and I have been trying for two months now to get it back. The money was stolen by direct debit, but of course the shower of lemons refused to transfer it back into my account immediately; probably because they knew they could put me through endess frustration for eight or nine weeks by promising cheques and then doing absolutely nothing. Eircom customer care have apologised at least five times for the delay and then assured me that I would receive my cheque shortly afterwards. Thus follows the usual wait and disappointment. The only thing I did receive was this stupid garbage:
No Conor Kieran, you don’t value me at all. Your piece of shit company stole from me and refuses to give the money back. So fuck you, I won’t be going back to eircom. A relative of mine was treated like shit in the past also. Instead of sending gushing, insincere spam, perhaps you should concentrate on improving things your end. Ever wonder why the people you are sending these letters to left in the first place? Idiots.
Their bullshit is quite amusing: I received an email on November 2nd from a customer care representative telling me the credit management team had informed her that I would get my cheque within ten days. Yesterday the representative tells me that the credit management team have told her that they sent the cheque to me in October. The sheer contempt they must hold me in if they expect me to swallow that big, fat lie. Now they are going off, apparently to confirm whether or not the ‘cheque’ was cashed. This adds insult to injury; they are implying that I have cashed the cheque and am lying about it. I think I’ll busy myself with a call to ComReg.

Direct Debit eh? That was your second mistake; Eircom was your first.
You had to give your direct debit details for the line rental initially; as soon as I got the line in, I went with Smart Telecom. From what I’ve heard, this is probably the reason they decided to fuck with me. It’s not like I chose to have to deal with them, the fuckers just happen to own the whole infrastructure.
Odd! In all my dealings with Eircom I’ve never had to set up a direct debit mandate to facilitate them. As far as I’m aware, it’s illegal for a company not to provide an alternative method of payment, even if they decide to screw you with an extra “handling” charge.
Do you remember when we, the nation, used to own all of that voice and data infrastructure? Do you remember!! They blame the EU for forcing the privatisation, but since when did the government ever listen to Europe. And what about those Eircon shares… total ass shafting!
Well, when I said I had to, I meant that I needed to.. I chose to use direct debit for the line rental, as that is the most convenient way and the way I pay everything. The day I choose a more inconvenient method of payment in advance because I’m afraid the company is going to steal from me is the day I roll over and die! Even Comreg told me not to bother contacting them anymore, as it is clear they never had any intention of giving back the money. They are just hoping I will give up.
