Bizarre
Ever since I glanced at this well known picture I find myself feeling very uneasy. Is this a child dressed up as an old woman for Halloween? Or is this actually an old woman? It is not funny in the slightest.

A lot of people were down the Spanish Arch drinking. Suddenly this guy started taking off his clothes and getting down to his boxers (like in the pictures). So the guard tried to stop him, only the dude started fighting back and tried to push the poor guard into the Claddagh. At which point he took out his mace, sprayed him in the eyes, took out his baton (as you can probably see in the second last picture there), and hit the guy once or twice.
Once he hit the guy, a group of about 20 people who had been sitting on the steps drinking, stood up and started yelling for him to stop. Probably came very close to a mini riot had the guard continued.
After about 5 minutes backup arrived and everything went back to normal.
I should probably add that what you can’t see in the pictures is that the guard almost went into the Claddagh. Maybe about 2 steps more and he would’ve been in.

I love gaudy things. Minimalism is great for technological design, but in everyday life I like the things that surround me to be messy. Covered in bits of glue, beads and paper. Anywhere that I have lived, eventually gets smothered in these things sooner or later. I can not have a blank wall staring back at me. I think the mood I generally aim for is “Gypsy Caravan“.
This is the first image that appears when I used Google Image Search for gaudy. I think this is the epitome of what I love in colour, art, and design.
If you’re going to use webtext to send a silly text, make sure you don’t accidentally select your mother from the phonebook before you send it. Especially if the message is stupid enough to warrant an immediate reply of “Is everything alright?” Sigh.
